Young Artists Awards, Inc.
The Young Artists Awards is a performing arts education, audition, performance, and scholarship program for area students ages eight to twenty-one. The project recognizes the area’s top talented students in the performing arts. Now beginning our eighth year, the mission of the Young Artists Awards program is to provide performing arts opportunities and scholarships in the areas of dance, drama, vocal and instrumental music performance and to provide a showcase for the talents of our local youth. As a 501(c)(3) organization, we are dependent on community and corporate funding.
By providing young performers access to professionals in the various performing arts fields, students receive positive feedback and educational exposure through adjudicated open auditions and a gala performance featuring the top judged students in each category at the Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre. We will be awarding thirty-three scholarships and opportunities to collaborate with educators and professional artists.
At our packed event in March 2010, over $19,000 in savings bond scholarships, as well as additional benefits were awarded to students. Thirty-five professionals in the performing arts from throughout the nation volunteered their time as adjudicators.

- Monthly performance at Art Walk in downtown Fort Myers. First Friday of every month at various Art Walk venues.
- Benefit Concert/Wine and Cheese Reception at the Art of the Olympians Museum. Friday 10/22/10. 5:30-7:30 PM. Featuring performances of Young Artists Awards participants. Silent Auction to benefit student scholarships in the performing arts. Tickets are $20.
- Exhibit at the Southwest Florida International Airport – Concourses B & D. 30 pieces of artwork by pediatric oncology patients from the Children’s Hospital on display through January 2011.

- Auditions for students at the Alliance for the Arts. Saturday 1/22/11 and Saturday 1/29/11. 9 AM - 5 PM both days. Drama. Dance. Instrumental Music. Classical Voice. Contemporary Voice / Musical Theatre. Students must be registered to participate
- Preview and sale of artwork by pediatric oncology patients from the Children’s Hospital at the Arts for ACT Gallery. Opening on Friday 2/4/2011 from 6-10 PM. Show runs the entire month of February
- Gala at the Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre on Sunday March 13, 2011. Featuring the performances of student finalists, local school groups and a silent auction. Hosted by Lois Thome of WINK-TV. Dinner 6 PM, Show 7:30 PM tickets are $40/sponsorship opportunities are available
- Preview and sale of artwork by pediatric oncology/hematol0gy patients from the Children’s Hospital at the Alliance for the Arts. Openings on 3/31/11 and 4/14/11 from 5-7 PM. Shows runs from 3/31/11-4/30/11.
